Roberto Viola

Roberto Viola has a PHd in Electronic Engineering (Dr. Eng.) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA).
He is Deputy Director General of DG CONNECT, in the European Commission, with responsibilities for Electronic Communications Networks and Services Directorate, Cooperation Directorate - International and Inter-institutional relations, Stakeholders cooperation, Coordination Directorate - Growth and Jobs, Innovations and Knowledge Base, Media and Data Directorate.

Detlef Dauke

Detlef Dauke is Direcor-General for innovations-, IT- and communications Policy at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy, Germany since May 2014.
After he finnished the study of law; 1987 - He entered into the German civil service at the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), Division: Constitution and Basic Rights.
From 2000- 2005: Head of office for MdB Michael Glos, chair of the CSU group and first deputy chair of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag.
Since November 2005 Head of Office at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
Dean Angelides

Dean Angelides

Dean Angelides serves as the corporate director of international operations for Esri.  He has worked with hundreds of organizations to implement GIS technology to improve their operations and decision-making over his 30 year professional career. Over 20 years ago he co-founded a GIS services company located in California and later joined Esri in 2005. Dean Angelides has served on a variety of advisory councils for GIS at local, regional and national levels.  He is currently on the Advisory Board for the Geospatial Innovation Facility at the University of California, Berkeley, where he did both graduate and undergraduate study.

Hui Lin

Hui Lin

Hui Lin is Professor and Director of Institute of Space and Earth Information Science (ISEIS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is Director of Hong Kong Base of National Remote Sensing Center of China. Hui Lin has published more than 200 research papers in peer reviewed academic journals and co-authored 10 books. He was elected academician of International Eurasia Academy of Sciences in 1995 and member of the Expert Committee of China Lunar Exploring Program in 2008. In 2009, Hui Lin received the Outstanding Contribution Award from Asia Association of Remote Sensing. Hui Lin is the founding president of International Association of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Science (CPGIS) and the chief editor of the journal Annals of GIS.

Gerhard Thiele

Gerhard Thiele studied Physics in Munchen and Heidelberg where he obtained his Doctorate Degree in environmental physics in 1985. Following his post doctorate studies on global ocean circulation at Princeton University he was selected by DLR as science spaceman in 1987.  In 1998 Thiele joined the European Astronaut Corps of the European Space Agency (ESA).
He was part in two space missions as backup and flew into space on board of space shuttle Endeavour in February 2000 on the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM).
Thiele headed the European astronaut corps from 2005 until 2010. Since 2013 he leads the Office for Strategy and Outreach in ESA’s Directorate for Human Spaceflight and Operations.

Claudio Mingrino

Claudio Mingrino is the Executive Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He is in charge of the management and development of the Hexagon Geospatial (HGD) portfolio sales through the global Indirect Channel as well as developing strategic partnerships and alliances in Europe, Middle East and Africa for the growth of the Geospatial business of HGD in all the market segments.

Manfred Hauswirth

Manfred Hauswirth is the designated managing director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS) and a full professor for Open Distributed Systems at the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin). He is also a research professor at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) where he was the Vice-Director of the  Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) for 8 years and a stream leader in INSIGHT, the Irish National Data Analytics Centre.
Peter ter Haar

Peter ter Haar

Peter Ter Haar is responsible for all aspects of product management and innovation, including product marketing, licensing, research, engineering, cartography and supply. He joined Ordnance Survey in November 2006 and has 25 years’ experience in product management and business development in the geospatial industry. He has worked in both the public and private sectors in GIS, location-based services (LBS) and mobile technology.
Peter is a Director of PointX, a joint venture company of Ordnance Survey and Landmark Information Group.
