Dean AngelidesDean Angelides serves as the corporate director of international operations for Esri. He has worked with hundreds of organizations to implement GIS technology to improve their operations and decision-making over his 30 year professional career. Over 20 years ago he co-founded a GIS services company located in California and later joined Esri in 2005. Dean Angelides has served on a variety of advisory councils for GIS at local, regional and national levels. He is currently on the Advisory Board for the Geospatial Innovation Facility at the University of California, Berkeley, where he did both graduate and undergraduate study. |

Hui LinHui Lin is Professor and Director of Institute of Space and Earth Information Science (ISEIS) of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He is Director of Hong Kong Base of National Remote Sensing Center of China. Hui Lin has published more than 200 research papers in peer reviewed academic journals and co-authored 10 books. He was elected academician of International Eurasia Academy of Sciences in 1995 and member of the Expert Committee of China Lunar Exploring Program in 2008. In 2009, Hui Lin received the Outstanding Contribution Award from Asia Association of Remote Sensing. Hui Lin is the founding president of International Association of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Science (CPGIS) and the chief editor of the journal Annals of GIS. |

Gerhard ThieleGerhard Thiele studied Physics in Munchen and Heidelberg where he obtained his Doctorate Degree in environmental physics in 1985. Following his post doctorate studies on global ocean circulation at Princeton University he was selected by DLR as science spaceman in 1987. In 1998 Thiele joined the European Astronaut Corps of the European Space Agency (ESA).He was part in two space missions as backup and flew into space on board of space shuttle Endeavour in February 2000 on the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM). Thiele headed the European astronaut corps from 2005 until 2010. Since 2013 he leads the Office for Strategy and Outreach in ESA’s Directorate for Human Spaceflight and Operations. |
