The keynote presentations will provide a general overview of opportunities in the GI/GT sector and Europe’s global position in the rapidly expanding GI/GT field. The keynote speakers and key European decision-makers will participate in a panel discussion. Parallel sessions will take place which are organised by certain EUROGI members (energy – Germany’s DDGI; job creation & economic growth – France’s AFIGÉO; environment – Ireland’s IRLOGI; demography – Denmark’s Geoforum; smart cities – Netherland’s Geonovum, open data - Hungary’s HUNAGI & Poland’s ISPIK).
A Jubilee lunch will take place to celebrate EUROGI’s 20th year anniversary and anniversaries of other EUROGI members, featuring an ESA astronaut who reports about creation of Digital Elevation Models from space.
Keynote speakers will focus on big data, open data and the Internet of Things. A panel of top European experts regarding these topics will discuss/debate the issues. Parallel sessions will take place which are organised by certain European Commission Directorates General and by European GI/GT associated associations.
In one of the sessions EUROGI will present its latest activities on “Market-Pull-Packs” for the European COPERNICUS infrastructure and then the GI industry will take over highlighting the new trend of using more real-time data for dynamic GI services.
The final session will consider/discuss resolutions which relate to advancing Europe’s positon globally in any of the thematic areas dealt with in the conference.
